Draft, pending legal review. This is a working draft of our cookie policy, published so you can see how we intend to operate. It has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer and may change before launch. Where it says “[to be confirmed]”, the final text will fill the gap.
This explains the cookies and similar browser storage used on joindyor.com and in the DYOR web app. Short version: we only use what the site needs to work. No advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking.
What we use
- Sign-in session (web app): stored in your browser so you stay signed in. Set by us and our wallet and sign-in provider, Privy. Strictly necessary.
- Referral code (
dyor_ref): when you open someone's invite link we remember their code for up to 30 days so they get credit when you sign up. Cleared once you finish signing up. - Preferences: things like your light or dark theme choice, saved in your browser's local storage.
- Bot protection: during sign-in, Cloudflare Turnstile (used by Privy) may set a cookie to tell people from bots.
- Security and hosting: our hosting provider may set short-lived technical cookies to keep the site secure and fast.
What we don't use
- No advertising or retargeting cookies.
- No third-party analytics trackers on the marketing site.
- No selling of browsing data.
Your choices
You can block or delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings. The marketing site will still work; the web app needs its session storage to keep you signed in. If we ever add optional cookies, we'll ask first and update this page.
