One-tap trading explained, and how to turn it off

· 5 min read · DYOR team

Memecoin prices move in seconds, and copying only works if a trade can be placed while you're not watching. One-tap trading is how both happen without us ever holding your funds. Here's what you're agreeing to when you turn it on.

What it is

Your DYOR wallet is self-custodial: you control it through your sign-in. One-tap trading is off until you switch it on, in Settings or when you start copying a trader. Turning it on adds our app as an additional signer on that wallet. You approve this once, through the wallet provider's own consent prompt. After that, when you confirm a trade in the app, or when one of your copy settings fires, our backend can sign the swap from your wallet without asking again.

You're still the owner. Adding a signer doesn't move your funds or give anyone your key.

What it can sign

The app signer works under a fixed policy enforced by the wallet provider, not just by our code. It allows:

  • swaps through an allow-listed exchange route;
  • the small steps a swap needs, such as wrapping SOL from your own wallet and closing empty token accounts with the rent returned to you.

What it can't

  • It can't export your private key. That's explicitly denied.
  • Sending your funds to someone else's address isn't one of the actions the policy allows.
  • It can't skip the trade checks. Every trade still passes the rug check, size limits and simulation.

On top of the policy, every transaction is inspected and simulated before it's sent: your wallet may only lose the quoted input and must receive at least the minimum output. More in how we check tokens.

What it's needed for

  • Auto-copy. Copies happen when the trader trades, not when you're online, so copy trading needs one-tap. If it's off when you start copying, the app asks you to switch it on first.
  • Quicker manual trades. With one-tap on, buys and sells you confirm in the app are signed this way, so you still tap “Confirm” on every manual trade, but there's no second wallet pop-up. With it off, manual trades still work: you approve each one in your wallet.

How to turn it off

Open Settings and switch off one-tap trading. This removes the app signer from your wallet straight away. From then on:

  • copying is paused for every trader you copy, and their sells aren't copied either, so decide how you'll exit any copied positions;
  • you can still buy and sell yourself: you approve each trade in your wallet;
  • your wallet and everything in it stays exactly where it is, and stays yours.

You can switch it back on at any time. Your copy settings are kept, so turn copying back on for the traders you want.

If you only want to stop copying, you don't need to turn one-tap off: switch off “Copy this trader” for each trader instead. And if you ever want to trade without us entirely, you can export your key and use your wallet in another Solana app. If you think your account has been accessed by someone else, email support@joindyor.com straight away.

In an emergency, we can switch it off for everyone

If we ever suspect a problem with our signing setup, we can stop all trading and auto-copy platform-wide straight away, and we'll tell you before turning it back on.

Risk note: One-tap trading makes trades faster; it doesn't make them safer. Faster trading can mean faster losses, so set copy limits you're comfortable with. Memecoins are high risk and can go to zero.
